On May 2 we traveled to Knoxville for the first annual Rock Around the Dock fundraiser at Keith's dad's seafood market/restaurant, The Shrimp Dock, for the Autism Society of East Tennessee. And of course the main reason we went is nowhere to be found on my camera. Why? I was busy talking with my bestie Kelly and her husband Kyle. Keith and I were so touched they came to spend the evening with us and support a great organization. Henry was an absolute trooper for the evening too. The crowd and noise was a bit much for him, but he coped really well with his trains, ipad, and headphones for a couple of hours. He also amused himself by running around and looking at the fish inside the restaurant. :)
On Saturday morning Big Papi and Kecky took us on a short train ride that Henry absolutely loved. The best part was that he was one of only a few kids on the ride, so the engineer allowed the children to blow the horn afterward. You know Henry was the first one to try!
A quick stop for pizza on the way to the lake house… and Henry got a call on an old-school phone. Henry's face was priceless when that phone rang.
The rest of the afternoon was spent at the lake, with Henry doing exactly the opposite of what Kecky asked him to do… throwing the rocks into the lake instead of onto the shore wall. Boys will be boys!
On the way home Sunday, he needed "a little break."

<3 (That is supposed to be a heart.)
ReplyDeleteIf I throw a fundraiser, will you come in town again? Maybe the Shrimp Dock will be a make it an annual event, and I promise we will get picts next time- both of the event and of us together. :)
Yes, my friend! Or, you know, an event for a tiny person… ;)
