Our school boy

Our little guy continues to make great strides in both preschools. He still prefers UUMP and absolutely busts in the door there, but he also seems to be more comfortable at Southwest. He is making friends and telling me little bits about them.

He adores his teachers, especially Miss Stephanie and Miss Lisa at UUMP. He also talks a lot about Miss Kim, the preschool director. He tells me he loves them and excitedly requests to see them each morning. Before school starts, the glass double-doors at the end of the preschool hall are closed; as of last week, Henry is the first one at the doors to look for Miss Kim.

Henry is singing more complete songs instead of pieces of them, such as "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Days of the Week." He's also reciting whole books and most of his favorite poem, "Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face."

Yesterday he did cry when I left him at Southwest, but when I picked him up he actually wanted to go back to the classroom. Um, that's weird. But good!

He takes a short nap at Southwest, but UUMP lets out at 11:45 and he is always pooped. He sometimes catnaps in the car, and then he usually sleeps for 3 hours at home.

We could not be more proud of Henry and how well he has adjusted to an enormous amount of change. I hope this is a harbinger of a great school career. Though his mommy always did well, she was not a fan of school, and I hope he will be different.
