For some reason I'm sure we'll never know, VBS was too much for Henry this year. Monday was rough, Tuesday was better, Wednesday started out tragically and we left about 10 minutes in. I wanted him to still have a fun week and not worry about missing VBS, so on Thursday I put "Visit the Library" in his Fun Shunting envelope. We drove down to Pittsboro for the library and a sweet stop at The Phoenix Bakery. I was pretty excited to help him pick out his first chapter books and told him how they work - that we could read a chapter every day. Well, the apple doesn't fall far. We finished his first one yesterday. "Read the next one, Mom."
