Carowinds

On our way back from Atlanta we dropped Henry in Spartanburg for a couple nights, which allowed me to do some much-needed painting in the house. I picked him up by driving to Carowinds outside of Charlotte, where we spent a few hours with Grammy, Jonathan, and Perrin. This was a low-cost way of determining how well he would handle the amusement park atmosphere before going to Disney later on -- like, when he's tall enough to ride more than 5 rides!

Henry was apprehensive about nearly every kid ride in the park, but totally fascinated by the roller coasters. I am pretty sure he and Perrin would have ridden the Intimidator if we (and park rules) had let them. Not that it would be a good idea... Jonathan got an upset stomach and I went to bed that night with a raging headache! But, man, those few minutes were fun.

Anyway, Henry rode several rides and loved watching the big coasters, as well as watching Jonathan, Perrin, and Grammy get soaking wet ("They're soapy wet!") on Whitewater Falls. We headed home when he was totally exhausted and needed a nap. The other three left for Spartanburg much later.
