About Henry and our friends

Every few months (or twice a year, cough cough) Keith and I have dinner with my college roommates, Erin and Suzanne, and their husbands. Chandan and Suzanne are really gracious and often drive to Raleigh from Fayetteville, but this weekend it was our turn to do the driving.

Keith and I had decided in advance to leave around 8:30 so Henry wouldn't get in his bed terribly late. However, about that time an emergency weather report popped up on the TV and warned everyone in the area to stay at home. Ok, will do. We decided to wait out the storm with our friends and just hope Henry slept all the way home. (He did.) In the meantime, Henry made himself at home. He stopped playing with his toys, climbed up on the couch, pulled a blankie over his legs, and played with Keith's phone. This photo is taken with my phone and its not-so-great flash, but I just wanted to capture his sweet little self. He grew sleepy as the night wore on, and his little head bobbed up and down as he sunk deeper into the couch. So precious.

We consider ourselves blessed that all our friends, even those without kids of their own, are so sweet to Henry.  You expect family to love your child, but you don't expect it from friends. It's just an amazing gift if they do. We've had friends love on Henry from the very beginning - praying for him, showering him with gifts, stopping by to see him, calling to see how he is doing... I hope one day he'll know how very loved he is by every person who knows him!
