Today we introduced Henry to Camp Royall, the only camp in NC (currently, that is) for autistic children and teens. It is conveniently located for us, just under 20 miles away. They have Family Fun Days periodically, and I couldn't think of a better time to visit than today!
Henry would not ride the boats in the pond (because he hates life jackets) or do the modified zip line, but he enjoyed looking at everything just the same. We showed him all the different climbing structures and swings, the pool, the gym, the dining hall, and the campfire ring. His favorite part was having unlimited time in the bounce houses and on the inflatable slide. Carnival settings are usually crowded in the inflatables, so this was really enjoyable for everyone.
Staring at the closed pool, he sighed, "I wish I had my bathing suit."
