Dad left BellSouth awhile back, due to a permanent medical leave, but as of last September he is officially retired. Yes, 2014. It took us that long to get our acts together. Actually, the official date slipped up on us since he had been out for awhile. Stephanie and I talked about it earlier this summer and, along with Mom, decided to give him a party to celebrate. It was a gorgeous night and lots of great couples came out to support Dad. I thank God for a man who showed me what it means to be a hard and loyal worker for 40 years and what a supportive, selfless and loving father looks like.
