Mom and Dad came and spent a quiet weekend with us. Dad helped Keith with projects and Mom helped us clear brush from the fallen trees. We had lunch in Pittsboro on Saturday and showed them the area. Unfortunately, I only got this pic from my phone.
Tuesday morning Henry woke up to balloons on his floor and streamers around the house.
We had breakfast and got ready for his best friend to walk down the street with his mother and little brother. We played with sidewalk chalk and paint while we waited.
When he saw Abel coming, Henry jumped down off the rock and ran to him!
They played trains. (Duh.)
And jumped on the trampoline.
And ate cupcakes Miss Melissa brought. Abel even sang to him.
Abel got a candle too.
Later we opened presents and had a very special cake Daddy made. Henry's favorite dessert is chocolate chip cookies.
Before bed we played with the bow and arrow and put on the pajamas that he got from Abel.
(Henry is really into Angry Birds these days! He also got an Angry Bird bath towel from the Dales. He loves to run around in it, acting like a crazy bird.)
As the three of us snuggled in bed, Henry pulled us close, pressed his cheeks against ours, and sighed, "I need my birthday back." I think that means he had a good day.
